New York Comic Con, 4/19: I was very excited about this concept that these hiphop entrepreneurs were coming out with: a series of five different motorcycle jackets which would zip together to create a sixth kind, all themed around my favorite childhood cartoon, Voltron: Defender of the Universe. When I first discovered them, I started laughing; when they asked why, I replied, "Because I know I have to buy this." They liked that quite a bit, as you might imagine. They're also putting out a special edition t-shirt in a lunchbox, for those of us of more modest means.

My friend Zena, the only person much less woman who I've ever met with a bigger boner for Voltron than me (and thus the only suitable mother for my children), was not as impressed; supposedly, her first words to this team were, "So what is it you're doing to destroy my happy memories of Voltron this time?" She don't play.
