This auction is for a collection of 100 assorted baseball only cards.
These cards belonged to my husband who now is my EX-Husband.
The title does not tell all the story so please read this auction description CAREFULLY and COMPLETELY BEFORE BIDDING.
I have a large collection of probably two to three millions cards that were awarded to me as alimony in our divorce agreement. I and a couple of high school kids are breaking this collection into lots of 100. The cards in each lot will vary since they are not sorted or searched in any manner. These are individual cards that have been kept for years in boxes and notebooks as my EX took very good care of what is now my cards. Each lot will have a varirty of players and brands of cards. Possible cards are stars, rookies, inserts, hall of famers, commons, autographs, limited editions, game memorabilla such as jersey cards, bat cards, one of a kind, etc.
Since each lot is different it is possible you may get some, all, or none of the above types in your lot.
My intent is to get rid of all cards so all will eventually be sold. There are many brands including Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Score, Upper Deck, Bowman, Goudy, Finest, Leaf and many more. The cards may be from the 1930's to last year. More of the cards are from the 1970's to date since that is when most cards have been made.
We are picking the cards in random order and recognize some of the players. Some of the names I have seen that I have heard of are Mickey Mantle, Warren Spahn, Ted Williams, Ralph Kiner, Yogi Berra, Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron, Cal Ripken Jr and Sr, Mike Piazza, Ken Griffey Jr and Sr, Michael Jordan, Alex Rodriquez and many more. You get the picture. All the biggies are here and none will be held back. My EX spent many dollars collecting these cards.
Most of the cards that I have looked at seem to me to be near perfect in condition. It seems that the older ones are made of cheaper cardboard and have not held up as well as the newer ones, but then the newer ones are not as old. Guess that makes sense. You could get all mint cards or maybe some that have been through the "ringer".
As I said in the beginning I do not collect cards and know very little about them so you may get a lot that will have lots of good ones or few good ones or maybe even no good ones. I just know they all are going to be sent out to the buyers. The kids helping me pack these do not collect either so no one is picking through them and taking the good ones.
Each lot will vary--no two should be alike due to the sheer volume of cards. I guess it is possible you could get two alike but maybe they would both be great cards. Each lot could be of many different years and brands or then again maybe not---just depends on how we come to them.
The pictures shown are just some of the name players we have come across and ARE NOT pictures of the lot you will be receiving. These pictures are just some of the possible players you might receive.
Just look at this as a fun opportunity and a chance of getting some real nice cards. My EX was very proud of this collection and would have kept it if he had some other way of paying the proper alimony.
Check out the auctions for other lots and you can save shipping and handling charges by buying more than one auction.
Just for the record my EX and I are still on speaking terms but the cards are now mine and I have to sell them. He is no longer interested in the cards or me. He has moved on to collecting knives and younger women. That is okay.
All cards have been stored in the boxes and books for years so should be in great shape but could be otherwise.
Shipping is $5.00 for the first lot and $3.00 for each additional lot bought within a 24 hour period and shipped together.
I ship within 24 hours of receipt of paypal or money order payment.,
Insurance is optional at $1.50 per shipment but decision and risk is yours.
Refund. If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase please email me. I will make a complete refund of the purchase price less shipping charges upon my receipt of the cards. I want no unhappy customers. This is a fun thing.
Feedback. Due to a couple of buyers giving me unwarranted negative feedback I will now only give feedback after the buyer has provided feedback.
As a test to see if bidders are reading the entire description I will include a Pete Rose card with every auction if requested to do so at the time payment is made.
Will ship to Canada for $1.00 additonal per auction . No other foreign shipments.
I really don't know what is in each lot.
Good luck bidding and remember it is a fun thing!!!!
